About Autobahn Body Works
"Gary "Harpo" Rasp founded Autobahn Body Werks in 1985. His passion for motor vehicles, however, started much earlier. At the tender age of 13 Harpo started to tinker with autobody work. He is a self-taught man that assembled his first 1926 Model T Ford from bushel baskets at only 15! His interest never faded and he decided to pursue auto body as a career.
He began honing his trade between 1976 and 1985 while working in the North Shore of Chicago. There he began specializing in high end German imports. The pull of Buffalo called him back in late 1985 where he opened up his own small scale shop. It was then that he created a working friendship with Mercedes Benz of Buffalo (formerly known as Great Lakes Motors).
It wasn't too long before Harpo realized that his small shop was a huge success! He wound up upgrading shop sizes twice before finally settling into his current location next to Mercedes Benz of Buffalo. Here you will find his smiling face and eager attitude ready to help you get back on
the road!
